LIVERPOOL'S PRE-SEASON MATCHES

Judging by the lack of comments on the Tranmere game blog I thought I would post a general blog so Kopfans can comment on all the pre-season games which are coming thick and fast, starting with Bradford City tomorrow.  I don't know much about Bradford but surely they must give Liverpool a harder game than Tranmere did.  Although more players are back in training the new arrivals will not be considered for Bradford, though Lovren who has trained for a few days should get a game.  Otherwise…

The new season is almost upon us and is no less welcome for the fact that football never actually went away over the summer.  Liverpool are yet to sign any senior players and this gives a chance for the youngsters to make a case for their involvement.  Personally, I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of signings so far and was expecting at least a left back and a versatile forward by now.  We can't afford to stand still while others strengthen.  The injuries to Keita, Shaqiri and Kellaher…

Here it is folks, the CL final, can we end a fantastic season with old big ears, god knows we deserve silverware after the season we've just had but of course spurs will have something to say about it, their looking for their first european cup and will be well up for this but i'm hoping our heartbreak in this final last season will spur us on to victory which i think we'll get, onto the team.

Big blow today of the news that Kieta is ruled out, i'm sure he's devastated, he was really…

Wolves, 12-05-19, PL (H)

Can't believe the season is over already, gone so quickly. Whatever happens on the final day we've had an incredible season and of course we still have old big ears to fight for on june the 1st.

Ive just read that Salah is good to go for this one so he'll come back in here, i think whatever team Klopp picks here could be the same team he picks for the CL final, back 5 is as usual with Arnold, Matip, vvd and Robbo with Alisson between the sticks. My midfield would be Fabinho, Hendo and…

Barcelona, 07-05-19, CL Semi final (H)

Back to the Champions League and this is the second leg. We have put ourselves in a difficult situation and the solution to this that we have to win by four clear goals in order to progress. It's a huge mountain to climb but it's not impossible to reach the summit with the result. The task is difficult but it's there for the taking. Now we are missing three players, Keita, Salah and Firminio from injuries. A very sensible decision to leave Salah out. The first eleven that the Gaffer will put…

Newcastle 4-5-19 PL (A)

Never mind what happened last Wednesday night with the 3-0 defeat against Barcelona and we should forget about it at the moment. This is a big game at St. James Park and depends on the selections what the Gaffer has to put out here between a Rock (Newcastle) and a Hard Place (Barcelona Second Leg). This is a huge headache selection and my guess the team would be:

                                      Alisson

          Gomez           Lovern         VVD        Robertson

In my opinion the Lge is gone now, spurs and manu were our only hope of city dropping points i feel, fairplay to burnley they tried and so nearly got a draw but it wasn't to be, ah well, we still have the CL to go for.

We can beat barca over two legs, their not the barca of old, they have messi on fire right now but keep him quiet and we can beat barca no worries. Firmino looks like a doubt so i won't put him in so it looks like Origi could get his place, certainly not sturridge who…

Huddersfield, 26-04-19, PL (H)

This game should be a formality but i still want to see our best 11 start, lets not take any chances at this stage of the run-in. Although Huddersfield are relegated they would love to bow out with us as a scalp so our best 11 to start with, hopefully get the game won in the first half and then rest some players for the Barca game.

                                                                          Alisson

CL semi final secured so now back to the fight for the Lge title and a trip to wales. Always a possible bannana skin playing a team in a relagation battle but the way we're playing right now we will have too much for cardiff.

I think Klopp will start with a midfield of Keita, Hendo and Fabinho, a mix of Holding, defence and attack, our best midfield at this time imo. I wonder will he give Gomez a start??? maybe not, on the bench no doubt so Matip will keep his starting spot for now…

Porto, 17-04-19, CL Quarter final 2nd leg (A)

Great win against Chelsea, now back to finish off porto. I wonder will Klopp make many changes here, maybe wijnaldum to start, Shaqiri also and dare i say Lovren. I don't think we should make any changes but no doubt Klopp will.

We certainly want to keep Salah scoring so he starts along with Mane and Bobby, if Lovren comes in i can see that being the only change at the back. The midfield throws up the usual ?????s.

Maybe Wijnaldum, Fabinho and milner, give Keita and Hendo a rest…

In my opinion this is the game where we could lose the title as i feel we'll win all the other games, of course even if we do beat the chavs it may not be enough but fingers crossed.

We'll have Robbo back so he obviously will start alongside VVD, Matip and Arnold, Alisson between the sticks, well, it would hardly be Migs, hahaha.

As usual it's the midfield that is hard to predict but right now i think our best and inform midfielders are Hendo, Fbinho and Keita so that's my pick…

Porto 9-4-19 CL (H)

It was a good win against the Saints last Friday night and now we return to the famous European Nights at Anfield. This is the Quarter-Final First Leg and our opponents are Porto. Last season’s Champions League we defeated them in the Round of 16 with an aggregated score line of 5-0. This time will be a different encounter with them and remember they had a 0-0 result from Anfield last time when they were here. We lose Robertson from the First Leg of the tie and I guess Milner will take the…

Southampton 5-4-19 (H)

Let me post this one. This is a tricky game and a must win one. Southampton has improved under their new Gaffer and they are fighting for survival in a relegation battle which can be a treacherous game. I don’t know how match fit VVD is so I will do my best to predict the line up for this game.

                                 Allisson

                 Trent      Matip      Lovern/VVD      Robertson

                       Milner     Fabinho      Wijnaldum

Tottenham 31-3-19

Warrior is away in Turkey celebrating his marriage with his new wifes family so I will put up this blog. Tottenham are our visitors and i would expect the tam to be

Allisson Trent                  Matip            Van Dijk         Robertson   Lalana              Fabinho           Wijnaldum   Salah         Firmino        Mane

With city winning again today we have to match them to keep the pressure on, if we can…

This is almost a guarenteed 3points, can never be sure but very confident of a win here. Think we'll see Fabinho back from the start alongside Wijaldum and Milner, rest of the team picks itself.

                                                           Alisson

                                             Arnold   Matip  VVD  Robbo

Bayern Munic, 13-03-19, CL (A)

Do or die time in the CL, i think the balance is tipped in our favour here because of the away goal rule and seen that, hopefully, we have our scoring boots back on. As usual it's the midfield that is hard to predict but i think Fabinho is pretty much nailed on to start, the other two positions are up for grabs, so much so i can't choose so i'll leave it up to you guy's, be intersting to see who picks who.

Burnley, 10-03-19, PL (H)

As this one is getting close I thought I would initiate the discussion.  With City winning this evening and going 4 points clear we need to win to keep them in sight.  Burnley can be tricky opponents especially at Turf Moor but Liverpool should be too strong for them at Anfield.  Burnley are still in relegation trouble despite having had a decent run and some good results such as beating Spurs but they have been inconsistent. Dyche's teams are usually well organised so patience may be needed…

Derby time and can't wait for this one after our drubbing of watford, great performance that but we need 10 more like it starting at the toffee's. It doesn't look like Firimno will be ready, maybe on the bench but no worries i feel, Origi stepped up and done very well against the Hornets so if Bobby's not ready Origi could start his 2nd game in a row.

Back 5 picks itself in Alisson, Arnold, Matip, VVD and Robbo, Mane and Salah up front of course with either Bobby/Origi. My midfield…

Quick one guy's, almost forgot this game. I feel we'll get back to winning ways here, Arnold should come back in, looks like firmino is out so lets have Shaqiri in, i'm putting Fabinho and wijnaldum in midfield with Shaqiri in the hole just in front of them.

                                                                Alisson
