Watford, 24-11-18, PL (A)

Finaly, back to the Lge action and a possible tricky away game at watford, their flying high and their confidence will also be high so we need to be on our game here i feel. Having said that we've been winning ugly most of the season so i do expect us to win this one, onto the team.

As far as i can see we have no new injury concerns after the international break so again i think the back 5 and front 3 pick themselves but as usual the midfield is tricky to call. There's a lot of people calling for a midfield of Shaqiri, Fabinho and Keita and i agree. I know Keita is coming back of an injury but he's fully fit and showed some really good form before injury, we can either start him and give him the first half or bring him on from the bench for the 2nd half, we need to intergrate him in asap in my opinion.

                                                     Alisson

                                      Arnold    Gomez   VVD    Robertson

                                        Shaqiri    Fabinho   Keita

                                               Salah       Mane

                                                     Firmino

Arnold hasn't been playing well of late so maybe Klopp will give Clyne a start, i just hope he doesn't drop Arnold and push Gomez across and Start Lovren alongside VVD, i have zero confidence in Lovren, almost as little as Moreno so i'm hoping he leaves the Gomez/VVD partnership alone unless he's forced to change it, best of luck RedMen.

    • Henderson was getting frustrated because decisions were going against him. The first booking should have been a free kick for Liverpool as their player grabbed Henderson's shirt before Henderson dragged him down. But its no excuse for an experienced player to lose his head and give a poor example to the younger players. It was good to see signs of the front three clicking and any criticism of our performance should be tempered by recognising that Watford are a really difficult team to beat on their ground and have a lot of experienced players.
      • That's true, Henderson wasn't being given the decisions but it's not the first time he's been targeted by the opposition and not helped by the ref, he doesn't usually lose it like that. He didn't look his usual self for some reason, whatever that may be.
    • I don’t think we are going to miss Henderson, he should have been subbed earlier anyway the way he was going on, Think most of us saw the ‘red’ coming
  • I get the feeling Henderson will start because he came back before the second England game and was then seen doing full training at Liverpool (not much of an injury, it would seem). It'd be odd if Klopp had worked it so Henderson could return early but then didn't play him in the next game. I too expect to see Keita play a part in this game but whether it's a full ninety minutes or not will depend on how Klopp sets up. Firmino will probably start, if what Klopp said in his press conference is anything to go by. He didn't seem overly enthusiastic about switching him with Solanke right now, although the chances of Solanke making a substitute appearance have gone up after his England performance.
  • While we all want to see the strongest team put out every match the fact that we have PSG and Everton over the next week means Klopp will be shuffling the pack. The midfield is the main area of contention. Shaqiri has shown he can make a difference but Keita is now fit. Wijnaldum has been our most consistent midfielder but Henderson should be fit again while Milner has had a good rest and should be ready to fire. I would be tempted to go Henderson, Milner and Keita to start this one replacing Keita with Shaqiri after an hour or so. The front three tend to pick themselves but Firmino has been poor so far this season. There is a case for replacing him for this game with Solanke who scored 4 in 2 games for England U21's and looked in great shape. He's almost become the forgotten man but watching him for the U23's reminded me that he has the potential to become a top class striker.
    • Big call that for Solanke to start ahead of Firimno, i have read that Solanke is doing well right now but we have to get Firmino back to his best asap and he won't do that by sitting on a bench. They won't all play these 3 games coming up so of course there will be some rotating, Klopp just has to figure out which games are the priority over others, to me there all as important as eachother but this is why Klopp gets paid millions, to make these decisions, like you say, we can't have our best 11 in every game but no reason why we can't for at least the watford and psg games.

I heard there is a debate on the question "Does LFC need another defender?"  My question is why is there a debate about an obvious need.  We needed one last summer when I brought up the fact that except for VVD, all our CBs can be considered walking…

"I also would have preferred Ajax as both teams don’t know each other and am very wary of Spurs. It took a last gasp own goal last time to win 2-1 and am sure they still smarting from that. It’s also Klopp’s 4th final as he lost the last 3 so the pre…"

There's been some subtle, but potentially important, rule changes since the last Champions League final. Each team gets to name a 23 man squad and they can pick their substitutes from any of the 12 players not chosen in the first 11. 3 substitutes…"
