PSG, 18-09-18, (H) CL

Great result yesterday against one of the top 6 teams but that's done, now onto the CL and a visit from PSG and that complete and utter tool Neymar, can't stand him.

I think Klopp has to make some changes here, That incident with Firmino yesterday looked really nasty, anyone who saw the still photo of it will know what i mean, that eye is bound to be very sore for a few days so i doubt he will play here. I would also rest Mane but i would start Salah as he appears to need the game time most, slow start to the season for him, he's far from up and running in my opinion, i would have Studge and Shaqiri up front with him, god knows their chomping at the bit for more game time.

In midfield i would start Keita, Hendo and maybe Fabinho will take his bow here, another player chomping at the bit to get his LFC career started. The back 5 i think should stay the same. My team for this game would be,

                                                                      Allison

                                               Arnold      Gomez    VVD      robertson

                                                    Keita       Hendo     Fabinho

                                                    Salah        Studge    Shaqiri

Even with 4 changes it's still a very strong 11 but will Klopp make so many changes? He may wait until our next two games against southamton in the Lge and chelsea in the Lge cup to make changes but whatever he does we'll have a strong team to start, best of luck RedMen.

  • I didn't see the game but I kept in touch with the live feed and it looked like a great game with all the text. Can't wait for the next CL game against Napoli.
  • That was a proper European game. When PSG equalised I doubted we'd even get a draw, to be honest. We deserved at least a draw though, our midfield was fantastic throughout - as were our fullbacks - and we limited PSG to relatively few chances. Sturridge did better than I expected, he seems to be on the right track, but Salah still looks off his game (not just his shooting but also his touch). For Firmino to make the impact he did considering the injury he had was quite phenomenal and I don't think anyone could've said we didn't earn the three points. That's a good number of points in the bank in what looks to be a tricky group.
    • It was a cracking game, Robertson is fast becoming a fan favourite, brilliant player as is Arnold who i thought was excellent tonight also. What's your take on Salah's reaction after Firmino scored the winner, i'm not sure what way to take it, he obviously knows he's off form and was awful tonight but he could have reacted better after that goal imo.

Delighted for Studge, he needed that goal badly but he'll never dislodge any of our regular front 3 so if he's happy to play a bit part then happy day's, glad we kept him this summer.
      • Great game! The mouth that roared played a terrible game. Neymar should be ashamed. Tablet broke and I don't get to use laptop often. Blog coming 1 Oct!
        • Look forward to it Sage, hope your doing well.
      • I expect Salah is feeling a bit frustrated at the moment, given his form, but the TV footage was a bit misleading. His initial reaction to Firmino's goal was to throw his hands in the air, something that was difficult to see because of Klopp's running about, and then he threw the bottle into the bottle into the ground, probably out of a mix of adrenaline, relief and a little frustration in himself. I think Salah's too nice a person to be unhappy about Firmino scoring (if he was Ronaldo it may be another matter) and his instinctive reaction to celebrate probably says more than what followed.
  • Excellent 1st half, i want to see Keita and Firmino on, Studge and Hendo to make way and Shaqiri to get at least the last 20.
  • Not too happy with that midfield they struggled against Leicester. Fabinho has experience in Ligue 1 and knows PSG so why not throw him in. To my mind PSG have inferior opposition in their league not as tough as the PL so they may find the going tough
  • Sturridge it is so.
  • Firmino didn't train yesterday, i think we can take it for granted he won't be playing tonight, be very interesting who replaces him?????

"I'm happy with the white second strip.  White was the traditional colour back in the 60's and 70's, though I did like the yellow pinstripe that folowed.  I'm not sure about the dark blue shorts though.  I would prefer all white.  The third kit gives…"

"I think Grujic will be given a chance in pre-season to show if his improvement last season has brough him up to Liverpool level.  Wilson is now 22 and my worry for him is that he is a bit lightweight.  I prefer Kent though he doesn't score as many g…"

Liverpool has been a great about letting talented youngsters go permamently to another team if they have no real chance at first team futbol.  Yet in the cases of Grujic, Wilson and maybe Woodburn, we may be throwing the baby out with the bathwater!…

"But LFC keep secrets so well.  Remember last year's transfer window.  I've got this strange mental itch that a certain CB is coming our way.  Hope I didn't just jinx us!  Fixtures aside, any "reasonable" opportunity to enhance the squad's overall qu…"
