HUDDERSFIELD, 20-10-18, (A), PL

Nobody seemed interested in posting a pre-match blog on this game but now its taken place a few may wish to comment.  I thought it was our worst domestic performance of the season (Napoli was worse) and we were fortunatee to come away with the points.  Huddersfield fought really hard, which ws predicatable, and played rather well, which wasn't, but even so we should have cntrolled the game much better.  Some of our play in the final third was really sloppy and the decision making was often poor,  The goal, whuch was a brilliant move and finish, was in total contrast to much of the rest of our play.  Having said that, Salah, though not back to his best, was more of a threat than of late and Shaqiri had some good moments, while the back four were solid enough despite a few nervy moments.  Let's hope Mane is bck for Red Star as we missed his unpredictability.

  • Apologies guy's for not posting match blogs lately, I am on my holidays right now and won't be home til the 31st. I don't have much access to the internet.
I haven't seen this game but for me a one nil win against hudderfields is disappointing and I say that because I felt this was a chance to score a few and to build on but from what I'm reading it was an awful performance. I know we're winning practically all our game but we want to win in a convincing manner as well, the way things are going city will most definitely win the lge and if not on points it will be by their far superior goal difference. Let's hope for a far better performance and more goals from the red star game.
  • I have to agree, at times it looked like we'd turned up to play a friendly whereas Huddersfield were playing a league game. There were a handful of snappy moves from us, including the goal, but the rest was rather pedestrian and lacking intensity. Huddersfield would be justified in feeling unlucky they didn't get at least a point. The one positive from the game was that Salah looked to have got his touch back and was playing more instinctively again. Shaqiri did an impressive job in linking up play and Gomez looks very versatile in defence. But when you see how City are blowing teams away (they've got a plus ten goal difference now) the question must be asked when exactly will we find our stride? It looks like Klopp is asking his team to play at less than maximum intensity in an effort to prolong their energy levels throughout the season but I've never thought Klopp's methodology quite clicks unless it's played at full throttle. Even though we look somewhat disjointed we are at least winning and when we finally do go up a gear we'll be at the right end of the table. I just hope our luck keeps lasting.

"I'm happy with the white second strip.  White was the traditional colour back in the 60's and 70's, though I did like the yellow pinstripe that folowed.  I'm not sure about the dark blue shorts though.  I would prefer all white.  The third kit gives…"

"I think Grujic will be given a chance in pre-season to show if his improvement last season has brough him up to Liverpool level.  Wilson is now 22 and my worry for him is that he is a bit lightweight.  I prefer Kent though he doesn't score as many g…"

Liverpool has been a great about letting talented youngsters go permamently to another team if they have no real chance at first team futbol.  Yet in the cases of Grujic, Wilson and maybe Woodburn, we may be throwing the baby out with the bathwater!…

"But LFC keep secrets so well.  Remember last year's transfer window.  I've got this strange mental itch that a certain CB is coming our way.  Hope I didn't just jinx us!  Fixtures aside, any "reasonable" opportunity to enhance the squad's overall qu…"

The Reds’ away kit for next season pays homage to the legendary Bob Paisley, the most successful manager in the club’s history, in the year of the 100th anniversary of his birth. Quite similiar to the home kit and it looks decent even though the ima…

"0-2! WE DID IT. Wasted a lot of chances but WE DID IT! Held Spurs to no goals. Way to win Reds! Wait is over Warrior, we're the Champs of Europe again. Writing a lot more tomorrow. Sage signing off. YNWA."
