City, 03-01-19, PL (A)

Time for the big game, could it be a title decider, not for me, we can afford to lose and still win the lge, of course we want to keep that winning mentality going, last thing we need now is a knock to our confidence but i just can't see it happening, i think we'll beat city and go on to lift the title.

The midfield as always is so hard to predict but i'm tempted to go for a less attacking midfield and more of a holding/defensive one and hence why i'm putting Hendo and Fabinho in alongside Wijnaldum, all 3 have been excellent recently although Fabinho can be hot and cold. I'm twixed between Arnold or Clyne for RB but think i'll hedge for Arnold who's better at getting up and down the flank i feel. I desperately want to start Shaqiri but who of the front 3 do you take out, if i was forced to choose it would be Mane, Salah and Firmino are on fire right now so they deffinitely start or maybe take Wijnaldum out and start Shaqiri, either i would be happy with as their in great form right now.

                                                     Alisson

                                    Arnold   Lovren   VVD   Robertson

                                      Hendo    Fabinho   Wijnaldum

                                         Salah     Firmino    Mane

Like i said, i'd love Shaqiri to get a start here but if the team Klopp puts out is similar to the above i'll be happy. This game is a great chance to put this title to bed i feel and maybe Klopp will think the same and play a more attacking team and i'd be quite happy with that as well. The very best of luck RedMen.       PS.     Happy New Year Gents, have a great night whatever you do!

    • Cheers Red, thanks very much.
All 3 would be much appreciated but i will most definitely settle for the Lge title mate, we've waited too long. We've got a great chance this season, please god we can do it.
  • Congratulations and I hope you get on well in Turkey.

This game really could go either way. City looked much more with it in their last game so Liverpool will have play well to beat them. I notice City cross a lot of balls into the box from out wide so our fullbacks will be have to be on their game (I'd go for Trent and Robertson). I'd also go for a midfield of Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum because I don't think it'd be wise for City to get into a passing rhythm. I'd like to see our midfield get right on top of them because if City are allowed to pass the ball freely they can take half of our team out of the game before we know it. The other players pretty much pick themselves, the usual front three and centrebacks. I think it'll be close with a mistake rather than a moment of genius deciding the result.
    • Thanks very much Sam, i'm sure it will go well, ive been to visit and loved it but a different story actually living there but i think i'll adjust well.
I feel this game has more importance to city than us, it could be a title decider for them, they lose and 10 points would be too much to claw back imo, win and their right back in it, more pressure on them than us. If i was offered a draw right now i think i would take it, that's not to say i don't think we'll beat them, i think we will but to still be 7 points clear after the game would be very nice indeed, anything more is a great bonus. pychologically it is a massive game, i think we could be in for a cracker.
  • That looks a good a strong team but I'm just wondering if the game will be a bit too fast for Fabinho and whether Milner would be a better option if he is fit again. City will be desperate to make up lost ground but this can work both ways and we may be a little more relaxed than City. We've also had an extra day to recuperate and prepare so there can be no excuses if we fall short.

I hope you will be able to pick up LFC matches in Turkey, Warrior. Wouldn't want you transferring your allegiance to Fenebace! Anyway good luck with your move in the summer and congratulations on your marriage.
    • Thanks very much my friend, really appreciate your kind words.
No way will my allegiance ever change mate, "Red Till Dead". No doubt i will find a way to see the games on TV, that's a priority when i get there.
Happy New Year to you and your family Huytonian.
  • Happy New Year Ron waiting for your next visit been a long time mate.
    • Could be a lot longer Phil, i plan on Emigrating to Istanbul after next summer, i married a Turkish girl earlier this month and we've decided we'd have a far better life there. I'll do my best to get over to liverpool before i go, would love to see you and Jay. He was in Dublin a while ago and we met up for a pint, was great to see him.
      • congrats mate happy for you
        • Cheers Phil.

"I'm happy with the white second strip.  White was the traditional colour back in the 60's and 70's, though I did like the yellow pinstripe that folowed.  I'm not sure about the dark blue shorts though.  I would prefer all white.  The third kit gives…"
