Champions Lge Final v Spurs, 01-06-19 (Madrid)

Here it is folks, the CL final, can we end a fantastic season with old big ears, god knows we deserve silverware after the season we've just had but of course spurs will have something to say about it, their looking for their first european cup and will be well up for this but i'm hoping our heartbreak in this final last season will spur us on to victory which i think we'll get, onto the team.

Big blow today of the news that Kieta is ruled out, i'm sure he's devastated, he was really starting to show his quality at the end of the season so he's a big miss in my opinion. As far as i can see we've no other injury concerns to our main first 11 so my team for the final would be,

                                                                 Alisson

                                                   Arnold    Matip   VVD   Robbo

                                                   Hendo    Fabinho   Wijnaldum

                                                      Salah      Firmino   Mane

I think this is the best we can put out with what we have available, i would have put kieta in in place of wijnaldum but like i said klopp has ruled him out today. Spurs are a great team to watch and at time's can play fantastic football, they will be tough opponents but i think we'll edge this one out like in our Lge games against them. I'm going for a 3-1 victory, it could go to extra time but hopefully not the dreaded pen shootout, the very best of luck RedMen.

    • It's funny how different the final feels this season compared to last season. It kind of built to a crescendo last season and there was almost a sense of disbelief when we got to the final. This season there's much more of a sense that we deserve to be there, not just because we beat the best to get there but also because our consistency of play all season deserves some kind of reward. Like you said, there are many reasons to be optimistic going into this final but because of recent disappointments I can't quite shake the feeling a spanner will be thrown into the works from somewhere (perhaps I'm just a natural pessimist). One thing that has thrown us in cup games before is when we've lost an important player, I hope Klopp talks through a couple of contingences with the players so that we don't have that period of slight panic while everyone readjusts on the pitch to an altered gameplan. I'm a big believer in experience being a real advantage in one-off games and Liverpool have experienced a lot of adversity in finals in recent times. I hope Klopp uses that experience so that the players are prepared for circumstances that could potentially derail Spurs who won't feel quite at home in this kind of game.
  • I'd go with that team as well. Considering the impact Wijnaldum had in the semi-final there's a good chance Klopp would've started him here anyway. I'd have Milner on the bench because he's a great player to bring on if things aren't going to plan. Origi, Shaqiri and Sturridge are pretty good impact subs in cup games so having them start on the bench is fine.

"It's good that our players efforts have been recognised though the only thing that matters to LFC fans at the moment is for the season to be completed as soon as it is safe to do so and for us to get those final six points.  Bruno Fernandes probably…"

Looks like Liverpool FC has dominated the BBC Awards for 2019-20 Season and it seems just about right with the winners and PL XI team but Bruno Fernandes was a very strange addition into that team and they were other possible selected chosen nominee…
