Man City 10-11-19 (H)

This is probably the biggest game of the season (Part 1) on Sunday between the top two teams fighting for the title and a must win game for us to increase the points score to 9. The team selection is going be a nightmare to find the right balance especially when it comes to midfield because they may use a 3-5-2 (due to defensive injuries) system against us. If Klopp goes for the 4-3-3 formation then they will have 2 extra midfielders more than us but their attack and defence will be short…

KRC Genk, 05-11-19 CL (H)

Right it’s back to the Champions League at home versus KRC Genk. A win from this game at Anfield should put us on 9 points in our group but let’s not underestimate the opponent because they gave us some tricky moments from the previous game in Belgium. I was going to include James Milner but I opted for Oxlade-Chamberlain instead and preserve Milner for the week-end and also put in Wijnaldum since he usually plays better at home. Henderson should get a rest (or maybe come on in the closing…

Villa- 02-11-19- PL (A)

Crazy game lastnight, we have an incredible winning mentality right now and it's fantastic to see. Now back to the real buisiness of the PL.

I'm struggling about who to choose to partner VVD, gomez had a great chance lastnight to stake a claim in the absence of Matip but he didn't do himself any favours, pretty poor really, looks like i'll have to go with Lovren which really hurts me. I reckon the Ox has done enough lately to oust one of the regular midfielders so with Fabinho being a…

Arsenal 30-10-19 League Cup (H)

This game is not important for me because I have my eyes on the FIFA Club World Cup in December and if we get knocked out in this fixture which may be a blessing in disguise to help us with the remaining parts of our season and I do value the FA Cup more than this competition.

Matip is out for six weeks and appears VVD is carrying a knock (rumoured) so both players will not be featured. The first 11 line up should be very interesting and for the life of me I can’t decide who to put out…

Spurs, 27-10-19, PL (H)

I'm expecting a close game here, They might just have woken up after their result during the week and we all know how good spurs can be on their day. Hopefully their dressing room disputes are ongoing but if some of their players have resolved their differences and harmony reins in the camp we could be in for a tough afternoon.

For me the Ox has to start, he's chasing a starting place and doing a great job, one of our inform players imo. Fabinho is a cert but the last one of the 3 i'm…

KRC Genk, 23-10-19 CL (A)

Previous game against Manure was very disappointing but it’s over and dusted. Now we focus with this game and we have conceded 5 goals in our two Champions League matches which can be worrying with our defence. I don't think it's a good time to bring back Salah and it's best to keep him for the Tottenham game. Maybe the team could do with a shake up for this encounter and my choice of players and formation (4-3-1-2) is:

Alisson…

Manure, 20-10-19, PL (A)

i Can't believe we haven't beaten them at old toilet since 2014 but i'm very confident that stat will change on sunday. We'll never have a better change to humiliate them at their own ground. Althogh we haven't hit top gear as yet what a time to do just that. On current form you can only see one outcome but of course they will up their game against us, their hated rivals, it won't be enough though, iv'e never felt this confident going into this fixture and i expect to to OT with all 3…

Leicester, 05-10-19, PL (H)

The return of Rodgers. This has all the makings of a fascinating game with two managers that play a similar style of football and two fairly young teams that are in good form (give or take a hiccup here and there). I think the key word for this match will be 'energy' as both sides will know if they take their foot off the gas at any point they're likely to pay the price. If there is any defensive fragility left over from the Salzburg game Leicester are likely to find it out so this could be…

Salzburg, 02-10-19, CL (H)

Disappointing opening result to this seasons CL but a chance here to put that right. Seen that we're playing again on Saturday i think we'll see a few changes as for me the PL is so much more important than the CL so i would make wholesale changes. I don't know much about Salzburg but from what iv'e read they like to play an open game which would suit us nicely, they've won 9 of their last 10 so they can't be taken lightly.

I would start the likes of  Milner, Gomez, Ox and Lovren to…

Quick one for you guys, whole changes here of course after our mid-week lge cup win. I think the team pretty much picks itself, not sure if that's a good or bad thing but at least we do have a very strong bench as well as starting 11.

                                                                     Adrian

                                                     Arnold     Matip    VVD     Robbo

Chelsea, 22-09-19, PL (A)

A hard game to predict, I feel. A couple of weeks ago I would've said Liverpool have an obvious edge but since then Chelsea's wonderkids have started performing (it looks like Mount will be fit) and both sides have lost in the Champions League. Add to that the fact that Liverpool have had a somewhat poor record away to the top six teams in recent seasons and the picture becomes rather murky. Both teams are going into this game with something to prove - Liverpool will want to show recent…

Burnley, 31-08-19, PL (A)

Could be a tricky little game this but i fully expect all 3 points, would love us to start keeping some clean sheets as well. Don't have much time so i'll get straight onto my team.

Adrian will of course be between the stick with VVD and Robbo assured at the back, the other two places are tough to call as is the midfield, Matip was excellent last time out but as iv'e said before i do prefer Gomez, i think Arnold will keep his place at RB.

Arsenal, 24-08-19, PL (H)

Great start to the season and sitting pretty on top but now we have our first big test against one of the top6. Arsenal have strenghtened well during the summer transfer window and will be a different team to the one we thrashed 5-1 at anfield last season.

As usual the midfield is tough to predict but i'm going for Hendo, Fabinho and Chamberlain. I think the Ox has the potential to be a big player for us this season and with Klopp saying he's in great shape i feel he might start him…

Winning trophy's is becoming a habit and a good one at that, wasn't a great game with chelsea but a win is a win no matter how you get it and it's another piece of silverware in the cabinet so all good.

I'm taking it for granted that the team had today off so hopefully they'll have some sort of rest before this game as they did look tired on wednesday night.

I think the front 3 will start for sure, it's always the midfield that's tough to call, i think Wijnaldum may start with…

Chelsea, 14-08-19 Super Cup (Istanbul)

After a near perfect start to the Lge season, still smarting from that conceded goal, we have another chance here to win some early silverware which i feel very confident we will.

I think just a couple of changes for this game and one being the keeper obviously so Adrian comes in for the injured Alisson. I really want to see Kieta start so i'm putting him in my team alongside Fabinho and Hendo who i feel will both start for sure.

Could we see the usual front 3 start their first…

CHELSEA, 14-08-19, EUROPEAN SUPER CUP, ISTANBUL

Not sure how much most supporters care about this one but having unluckily lost to City on penalties in the Communiity Shield I feel it would be a moral booster to get a win here and claim another trophy.  With Chelsea losing 4-0 to United on Sunday Liverpool will be strong favourites.  However, I watched the first hour of that game and Chelsea played quite well and were unlucky not to go into half time ahead.  Having said that Zouma had a nightmare and if he plays tomorrow I'm sure we will…

Welcome back Guys, great to be back on KopFans for a new season, summer break has gone very quickly for me, i only learned the other day that we start next friday night. Anyway, onto the game.

Disappointing result today against city but that's done now, nice start to the new season against Norwich i feel, should be 3 in the bag here although these teams that come up sometimes have a great start to the season but then fall away, lets hope that's not the case here.

LIVERPOOL'S PRE-SEASON MATCHES

Judging by the lack of comments on the Tranmere game blog I thought I would post a general blog so Kopfans can comment on all the pre-season games which are coming thick and fast, starting with Bradford City tomorrow.  I don't know much about Bradford but surely they must give Liverpool a harder game than Tranmere did.  Although more players are back in training the new arrivals will not be considered for Bradford, though Lovren who has trained for a few days should get a game.  Otherwise…
