ASTON VILLA 5-07-20 PL (H)

Thank goodness the games are coming thick and fast and we can concentrate on Sunday's game against Villa rather than dwelling on that awful result yesterday.  A big reaction is required and I expect the players to be fired up for this one.  Having said that, it is the type of game when some changes will be needed, both to rest players and to give match time for the youngsters and squad players.  It was relatively simple to pck the likely team for City but this one is much harder.  I don't think

MANCHESTER CITY 2-07-20 PL (A)

Looking at this fixture much earlier in the season, I felt it could be a championship decider.  How wrong can you be!  Despite Liverpool already being champions I can't see Klopp letting the team rest on its laurels.  City will be desperate to put one over on us but equally we should be desperate to show them we are the top dogs.  City say they are prioritising the Cup competitions but they have been playing strong teams in every game so far.  This will be their fifth game since the re-start whi

Crystal Palace 24-6-20 (H)

Despite the game last Sunday where we had the most possession 70-30 percentage. The whole game changed after Milner suffered a hamstring late in the first half and then losing Matip about 17 minutes remaining. It was a point that was salvage after lockdown. This was Everton's Cup Final at Goodison Park... They are one result from matching our Milk Cup wins of four in a row which is four draws on the trot.

Right Crystal Palace and we're up against a different team with fast wingers and their usual

Everton, 21-06-20, PL (A)

Well guy's, we're back, i hope your all doing well and are safe and healthy. I've watched some of the games so far and i must say the fake crowd noise is quite good, so much better than no noise so i think their doing a good job there.

Let's get on to the game and it looks like Salah and Robbertson are doubts which could give Milner and Minamino starts here. Alisson is back after a hip injury so it could be the usual back 5 depending on Robbertsons fitness. Keita  has been in excellent form in th

Werner

I'm gutted we didn't get Werner, 4 years in a row he's been prolific so he's no flash in the pan, Chelsea have got a top class striker for buttons, i know it remains to be seen how he adapts to the prem Lge but i just can't help feeling we've missed out bigtime here. Klopp has said it's down to the pandemic crisis and the money the club has lost since it all started but surely all clubs have lost millions, chelsea can still spend 50 mil on a player then why can't we, are FSG being stingy because

Hendo lifting the trophy

Just a quick one guy's. Hope you are all fit and healthy, seems this virus is starting to ease off so hopefully we'll all be back to normal soon, whatever normal will be. Something i've been thinking about lately is, when the time comes, hendo lifting the prem trophy. I don't think this should be done until the parade in liverpool where everyone can enjoy the experience together, for him to lift it in an empty stadium just seems wrong to me after we have waited 30 years for the privilidge. I thi

Atletico, 11-03-20, CL 2nd Leg (H)

We could probably class this as our biggest game this season so far and even though we're only 1 nil down i feel this is a harder task than the one we had against Barcelona simply because of Madrids defensive qualities and as we know they don't have to score so it's a park the truck job for them and hope for an away goal on the counter which for me would end the tie. Onto the team.

We all know who the front 3 and back 4 will be, Adrian comes in between the sticks as Alisson is injured which doesn

Bournemouth 7-3-20 PL (H)

Back to Premier action this weekend. So we're in a mini-crisis? out of form? blip? still on holidays during our mid season break? This is a game where their Gaffer Eddie Howe is going to give us a real go at Anfield. Alisson is rule out due to Hip Injury and it's a worry that he may not feature next week's Champions League. Adrian will be taking his place, check! now as for the defence, I guess TAA can return to the fold and take his usual slot there as RB. The midfield is going to be tricky for

CHELSEA 3-03-20 FAC 3 (A)

After a sobering defeat at Watford I have seen calls for a first team eleven to be picked for this game.  I don't think that will happen and Klopp has hinted that the team will be of similar strength to that which played at Shrewsbury in the last round (not the replay).  I think Klopp is right because the FA Cup is our third priority.  Saturday reminded us that there is still a job to be done in the PL while next week we have a huge task to overturn the result in Madrid.  Playing the first team

WATFORD 29-02-20 PL (A)

Another game against a relegation threatened team tomorrow evening.  Usually there are a few easy games at this time of the season with several teams having little to play for, but this season it seems those not fighting relegation are striving for a European place, especially if City's ban holds.  Watford gave us a hard game at Anfield but that was Nigel Pearson's first game in charge.  The "new manager bounce" has gone flat in their last few games.  That's not to say they won't give us a hard

WEST HAM UNITED 24-02-20 PL (H)

It seems an age since our last PL home game against Southampton.  Tonight its the Hammers, who are in a spot of bother at the wrong end of the table.  They have some decent players but maybe not the sort who you would want fighting a relegation battle.  They also have Moyes as their manager which doesn't seem a good fit for a Club that used to be known for its good football.  Its only a few weeks since we played them away in a game when they parked the bus and seemed intent only on damage limita

ATHLETICO MADRID 18-02-20 CL RD OF 16 (A)

Back to European football this week and a difficult away game for the Reds at the scene of our recent European trimph.  Over recent seasons Athletico were the one team I was hoping we would avoid in the draw.  Playing aganst one of the glamour teams is always an exciting proposition even if you lose but Athletico have been the strongest of the non-glamour teams.  In particular they have had a really strong defence and enough in attack to cause anyone problems.  Besides that Simeone always has th

Norwich 15-2-20 PL (A)

The mid season break is over and we're back in business for this game. I'm aware that Norwich is in a relegation scrap fight but it doesn't mean they are a pushover and remember they gave us a real challenge at the beginning of the season even though we came out on top with a 4-1 victory. Anyway, it seems all our players are in training and plenty of options to choose from, but we have a Champions League coming up a few days later and this might be a bit of juggling with the starting line up aga

SHREWSBURY TOWN 4-02-20 FAC 4 (REPLAY) (H)

This is the game nobody wanted unless you happen to be an U23 player with a chance to play in front of a big crowd at Anfield.  I thought there were first team players who could benefit from playing in this one but Klopp has decided to make a stand and maybe the U23 lads can produce a more cohesive performance than a mix and match team.  The U23 team that beat Arsenal on Saturday was lacking eleven regulars so it is a fair bet the missing lads will all start, which will give us a stronger team t

SOUTHAMPTON 1-02-20 PL (H)

For a change this is a 3pm Saturday afternoon game, the last for a while, as our remaining February and March games are televised.  Saints are on a good run and have won the last 4 away, so we have to take this challenge seriously.  I would suggest the following team:

Alisson

Trent Gomez VVD Robertson

Keita Henderson Wijnaldum

Salah Firmino Minamino

Keita would bring fresh legs while Minamino would be fresher than Origi, though Jones would be another option.  Southampton have been emplying a high pre

West Ham 29-1-20 PL (A)

This is our game in hand and must win one to increase the points gap to 19. With a trip to London and we should have full team with plenty of choices to choose. I don't know what's the latest news with Sadio Mane's injury and recovering process but Divock Origi should be able to take his place instead. The first 11 should be:

Alisson

TAA - Gomez - VVD - Robertson

Henderson - Fabinho - Wijnaldum

Salah - Firmino - Origi

Please don't make a mess of this game and best of luck Redmen.
