Shrewsbury, 26-01-20, FA Cup 4th round (A)

The games keep coming, thankfully. We wouldn't want to break our stride now would we, haha. I'm a bit more interested in us doing well in this comp than the Lge cup but still won't be too upset if we go out, as iv'e said before it's all about winning the Lge for me. Anyway, not too sure about the team for this game so i'll put in who i think will deffo start.

                                                                       Adrian

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 23-01-20 PL (A)

We seem to have had a few Thursday games recently.  At least it has given us a 4 day break after the United game.  This could be one of the most difficult of our remaining fixtures.  Wolves are a strong, well organised team with a system that they are comfortable with.  I've been impressed with how they have coped with the extra demands of the Europa League this season.  Having said that we are an incredibly difficult team to take points off.  The only selection issue for me, unless there are an

MANCHESTER UNITED 19-01-20 PL (H)

It's been a good week-end so far for Liverpool without the Reds actually kicking a ball.  City dropped two points at home to Palace and Rhian Brewster scored the first goal of his loan spell at Swansea.  Three points against United tomorrow would make it the perfect week-end.  I would keep the same team as started against Spurs namely:

Alisson

Trent  Gomez  VVD  Robertson

Ox  Henderson  Wijnaldum

Salah  Firmino  Mane

Unless there are any late injuries, I see the only decision being between Ox and Fab

Games against Spurs have usually been close in recent seasons but we have had the better of them.  Their new manager bounce turned out to be more of a dead cat bounce but Mourinho will, as always, be desperate to put one over on Liverpool.  He'll have do do it without Harry Kane, though Spurs have managed to come through Kane's absences quite well in the past.  Only Shaqiri of Liverpool's injured players is likely to be available for this one, though Matip, Fabinho and Lovren could be in content

EVERTON 5-01-20 FAC(3) (H)

FA Cup Third Round day used to be one of the highlights of the football year.  A chance for the minnows to embarrass a big name.  Today it's not the same with the Premier League and the Champion's League the main competitions for the bigger clubs.  Thus I wouldn't be too bothered about the outcome of this game but for the fact that we are playing our "friends" from across Stanley Park.  Our hectic recent schedule will surely mean wholesale changes to the team both to give players a rest and to a

Sheffield United 2-1-20 PL (H)

Right, this is our first game of the decade which takes place at Anfield. I hope the lads will be much fresher for this game and it seems some of the players look tired during last Sunday's visit at Wolves.

Sheffield United are having a decent season and earlier this season we had a narrow 1-0 with a lucky goal from their keeper's error. Anyway, back to the team selection and maybe we could do with some changes in the line up in order to rest some of our players. I would like to rest Henderson, W

Wolverhampton Wanderers 29-12-19 PL (H)

The previous game was fantastic with a great result of 4-0. This is our final game of 2019 and it is at home versus Wolves and yes they defeated city after coming back from 2-0 down and won it 3-2 and they are not to be taken lightly.

It appears that Henderson will be available for the game, I have no idea when OX returns and Fabinho, Matip and Lovern should return in February 2020. This should be an interesting team selection for this Sunday's game and my team for this one is:

Alisson

TAA - Gomez

LEICESTER CITY 26-12-19 PL (A)

When I heard we were to compete in the World Club Championship I was concerned that it might cost us the League with the extra fatigue that two matches in Qatar would bring about.  Of course I did not know at that stage that we would have a 10 point lead (11 over City) with a game in hand.  While we have some leeway this is no time to start dropping points, though a draw at Leicester would not be a bad resul, especially if City were also to drop points at Wolves (never an easy ground to play at)

Flamengo 21-12-19 Club World Cup Final (Qatar)

2005 Club World Cup was a sham. Hypia's and Pongolle's goals should have stood against Sao Paulo and we could have won that trophy, but that was then and this is now. Huge game against Flamengo and this is where we need all our horses to plough the field in this encounter. Wijnaldum went through a session today but I am not sure he is match fit and VVD did training also and let's hope he is (or both) 100% match fit.

With the line up in mind, Trent can return to first 11 and move Henderson from CB

Monterrey 18-12-19 Club World Cup (Qatar)

It has been 14 years since we have entered this competition. Some of the young players will travel after the Villa game to join up with the first team. I have no knowledge how good the opposition is and I am sure the Gaffer has important information how their game set up works. Wijnaldum’s fitness is coming along nicely but he won’t be risked for this game and it looks positive for VVD’s fitness also. Getting the right balance for the midfield is a key factor and a headache selection for me who

Aston Villa 17-12-19 League Cup (A)

For 43 years I have been a supporter of this football club and I’d never imagine I will be watching both games taking place in 24 hours. While the first team is out gallivanting in Qatar and I have no idea what team the stand in Gaffer Neil Critchley is going to put out against Villa. This will be a struggle and I would need a hand from you folks. If the formation is going to be 4-3-3 and the team is:

Kelleher

Lewis -Hoever - Van den Berg - Larouci

Elliott - Kane - Chirivella

Watford 14-12-19 (H)

I am sorry I am very late with this and it’s less than eleven hours with the kick off. It was nice to have won the game last Tuesday night and made it to the last 16. Back to this weekend fixture which starts at 12:30 PM (GMT) and the line-up should be:

Alisson

TAA - Gomez - VDD - Milner

Henderson - Keita - Wijnaldum

Salah - Firmino – Mane

It was great news for Klopp and his assistants to have signed an extension in their contracts up to 2024 and better news for Milner with him to 2022. Doesn’t make

RB Salzburg 10-12-19 (A)

They gave us a scare last time when we met them at Anfield after we threw away a 3-0 lead and eventually we got over the line with Salah’s winning goal to make it 4-3. I do expect this to be an open game of full flowing football from both attacking teams. This is an important game that we cannot afford to lose and a draw will send us through to the last 16.

I don’t know if Lovern is 100% match fit due to knock from last weekend’s game against Bournemouth and it’s possible that Gomez will take his

Bournemouth 7-12-19 (A)

Last Wednesday night was a great one for us. Now we head down to the south east coast with a difficult game and their coach does make it harder for visiting teams at their stadium. I expect Alisson to return between the sticks and the same defence (we used against Everton). The midfield is going to be an interesting with the choices and maybe the attack also too. This could be the line-up:

Alisson

TAA – Lovern - VDD - Robertson

Henderson - Oxlade Chamberlain - Milner

Salah - Firmino - Mane

EVERTON 4-12-19 (H) PL

I don't expect too many changes for the derby compared to the team that played Brighton last Saturday.  It wasn't a vintage performance against the Seagulls but the team that Klopp started was about as strong as is available given injuries and match fitness complictions.  Alisson is suspended so Adrian comes in for the derby.  That is the only change I would suggest unless Salah is unable to start two matches in a week.  My team would be:

Adrian

Trent Lovren VanDijk Robertson

Ox Henderson Wijnaldum

Final game of November and we have a storm of a December to face with congested fixtures to get through. Fabinho won’t feature in this game due to suspension which would have been fine for me but he’s out for an 8 week layout with an ankle injury against Napoli during the midweek CL match.

We have to ride this storm with his absence and the team should be against Brighton is:

Alisson

TAA - Lovern – VDD - Robertson

Wijnaldum - Henderson - Oxlade Chamberlain

Salah - Firmino - Mane

I am not sure if Salah

NAPOLI 27-11-19 CL (H)

Back to the Champions League on Wednesday evening, with Liverpool needing a win to see them top the group and maybe get an easier draw in the first knockout round.  Any other result and it will probably all come down to the final game at Salzberg and we know how tricky they can be.  I don't think we should be resting key players for this one.  Lets get the job done then we can rest players for Salzberg.  Napoli are in a difficult moment but we know how good they can be even if they will be short

Crystal Palace 23-11-19 (A)

Finally the International break is over and back to business as usual with the Premier League. It was a great victory over Man City two weeks ago and now we face a tricky visit at Selhurst Park against a bogey opposition. We have three injury issues with Salah, Gomez and Robertson (maybe) will not be in the first 11. The gaffer has to reshuffle his deck for this game and the line-up will be:

Alisson

Arnold - Lovern - VVD - Milner

Henderson - Fabinho - Wijnaldum

Mane - Firmino - Origi

Man City 10-11-19 (H)

This is probably the biggest game of the season (Part 1) on Sunday between the top two teams fighting for the title and a must win game for us to increase the points score to 9. The team selection is going be a nightmare to find the right balance especially when it comes to midfield because they may use a 3-5-2 (due to defensive injuries) system against us. If Klopp goes for the 4-3-3 formation then they will have 2 extra midfielders more than us but their attack and defence will be short one in

"You could have Williams at right back, Larouci at left back, Jones in midfield and Elliott and Shaqiri as wide forwards. That would leave Hoever, Lallana, van den Berg, Chirivella and a selection of first teamers to come off the bench."
